Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Market Size 2023 to 2032
A vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) is a type of rechargeable flow battery. It employs vanadium ions as charge carriers. The battery uses vanadiums ability to exist in a solution in four different oxidation states to make a battery with a single electroactive element instead of two. The VRFB consists of two tanks of electrolyte solution, one for the cathode and the other for the anode. The electrolytes are separated by a membrane. During charging, vanadium ions from the anode tank are oxidized and move to the cathode tank. During discharging, vanadium ions from the cathode tank are reduced and move back to the anode tank.
